Cloud platform mobile payments company Mozido has acquired majority ownership in CorFire, a US-based mCommerce company, with the aim of advancing its Dunkin Brands mobile wallet app.
The acquisition also gives Mozido access to 2bn users worldwide through CorFires relationships with MNOs around the globe. Previous owners SK C&C will remain an investor in CorFire, and current users of CorFires mCommerce solutions will see Mozidos payments technologies and enhanced wallet functionality integrated into their service.
Mozido will also include new mobile loyalty, proximity marketing and engagement services in its new offerings, enabling retailers, brands and merchants to send targeted, conceptually relevant offers, provide mobile payment options and stay connected with their customers.
“CorFire is a strong global mobile commerce player,” said Michael Liberty, founder and chairman of global strategic initiatives at Mozido. “By adding its strength in NFC-enabled mobile wallets to Mozidos extensive mobile financial services and retail marketing capabilities, we can now give merchants around the world access to a powerful mobile ecosystem that adds monetisation features to mobile programs.
“CorFire has built a state-of-the-art technology platform for NFC-enables payments, and this acquisition, in conjunction with our MoTeaf platform, makes Mozido the leader in NFC and cloud-based mobile payments.”
