Facebook-owned VR company Oculus has opened a film division, Story Studio.
The studio, headed by ex-Pixar employee Saschka Unseld, will create a series of short CG films to highlight the opportunities that Virtual Reality presents for filmmakers.
The first of these, Lost, is being premiered at the Sundance film festival taking place in the US this week. The film places the viewer in a dark forest, tracking a giant robotic hand as it crawls through the setting.
According to TechCrunch, Story Studio has five more films on its slate, ranging from an immersive experience set in a bullring, Bullfighter, to the adventures of a cartoon hedgehog, Henry.
