Trump supporter Jacob Wohl has been banned from Twitter

Twitter has banned Jacob Wohl, the 21-year-old Trump supporter who created multiple fake social media accounts in an effort to influence the 2020 U.S elections in favor of the current president. The ban was put into effect just hours after Wohl’s USA Today interview, in which he bragged about his plans to create fake Twitter and Facebook accounts to manipulate the election.

“The account was suspended for multiple violations of the Twitter Rules, specifically creating and operating fake accounts,” said a Twitter spokesperson.

Wohl’s personal Twitter account had accumulated over 180,000 followers, mostly due to his frequent replies to Trump’s tweets. According to an undisclosed source, Wohl had already begun creating fake accounts including @JWohlTreason, @DrakeHomes612, @Women_4_Schultz, and @Ericshanzner.

Wohl took to YouTube to post a video addressing the ban, saying that getting kicked off Twitter was working in his favor, and that the setback would not stop him from continuing to try to manipulate the next presidential election. Meanwhile, his Facebook and Instagram accounts are still active.

“This could not have happened at a better time,” Wohl said. “Jacob Wohl is the number-one trending topic on Twitter right now.”

Wohl vowed to keep creating more fake social media accounts, much like @Women_4_Schultz, a Twitter account Wohl used to impersonate a group of women supporting Starbucks founder Howard Schultz for president.

“It’s 100 per cent legal, and now I’m going to have a lot more time to do it,” said Wohl.

Using the @Women_4_Schultz account, Wohl planned to influence voters to support Shultz, who would run as an independent, in-turn taking votes away from a Democratic candidate that might pose a threat to Trump. The account was also used to attack and criticize Democratic presidential candidate senator Kamala Harris.

Prior to the Twitter ban, Wohl tried to spread false praise about the sitting president, frequently tweeting made-up scenarios in which he had overheard liberals celebrating Trump’s actions and agenda.

“I was in a hipster coffee shop (safe space) here in LA and the libs were whispering to each other how @RealDonaldTrump is doing great for the economy, got them a raise at work and will definitely be re-elected in 2020,” Wohl tweeted in January 2018.
