Foap lands $1.5m Investment

Mobile photography startup Foap has closed a $1.5m (£1m) funding round from Swedish VC Industrifonden and Maxwell Ventures.

The funding will be used to support further growth in its sales team and opening a New York office in September. The company is also set to launch an Android app in September.

Founded in 2012, Foap enables photographers to upload stock photos which can then be purchased for $10, but brand can also launch Missions, which invite photographers to upload images around a set theme.

“Since launching Foap Missions, the brands we’re working with have been coming thick and fast which is fantastic,” said David Los, co-founder, Foap. “We’ve already worked with MANGO, Puma, Lavazza, VisitSweden and many more with other major household names in the pipeline. It’s important we build on this and grow our sales teams so this round couldn’t of come at a better time.”
