Jägermeister partners with Yoti for responsible alcohol sales

Spirit brand Jägermeister has teamed up with digital identity app Yoti  to promote responsible alcohol sales, while at the same time helping people check out faster at the Jägermeister pop-up shop in Soho using their ID, on their phone. Jägermeister will sell a range of merchandise and personalised gifts for its fans at a pop-up shop at the award winning, independent station Soho Radio in the run-up to Christmas.

It’s the first step in a new partnership that sees the two brands working together to create modern solutions that deliver responsible alcohol sales, which are becoming increasingly challenging with the growth in online shopping, plus the availability of high quality fake IDs. Jägermeister will be integrating Yoti into the checkout journey of their online shop and using Yoti to confirm the age of customers in their real-world activations.

Yoti offers consumers a way to prove their age and check out faster with their ID, on their phone. The free iOS and Android app takes less than five minutes to set up and puts individuals in control of their data. People take a selfie and scan a passport or driving licence with their smartphone, which is then transformed into a digital identity. Yoti is secure, using advanced hybrid encryption to store and share individuals’ details, allowing users to anonymously prove their age without disclosing their full identity to businesses.

The Jägermeister pop-up shop is open until 22 December. Yoti is offering six free glasses worth £11.95 to people who prove they are over 18 at the checkout with Yoti. If they don’t have time to create a Yoti in advance, they can return to the shop with a receipt and verified Yoti to claim their gift.
