North East Welcomes First Digital Shopping Wall

South Tyneside says it has become the first council in the UK to create a digital shopping wall.
An empty shop on King Street in the town has been repurposed with QR code posters that lead shoppers to local stores’ websites or online shopping portals.
Tea and gift shop Mac ‘N Alli, Little Angels cards and gifts, jewellery company The Finishing Touch and The Customs House theatre are all hoping to be able to open a town centre store soon. 
This is the first time Wiltshire-based company City Dressing, which specialises in transforming town centre spaces, has created an internet-enabled experience.
