Philippine Network Offers HomeSend Mobile Money

Philippine network operator Smart Communications has launched a new mobile money service through a partnership with eServGlobal and BICS.
eServGlobal is deploying its HomeSend remittance service on the Smart Connection network, which has over 45 million subscribers in the Philippines.
According to eServGlobal, the Philippines receives over $20bn in international remittance each year and is one the top remittance receiving countries in the world. For example, in 2010, Qatar and the United Kingdom sent over $500m each in remittances to the Philippines. 
HomeSend is offered by BICS and based on eServGlobal technology. BICS is a leading global provider of voice, messaging, roaming, connectivity and mobile financial services.
