Twitter Circles Acquisition of Bieber-backed Selfie App

Twitter is in talks to buy selfie photo-sharing app Shots, which was backed by pop star Justin Bieber during its second round of funding.
The company is apparently predominantly interested in the apps user base, which numbers over 3m and two-thirds of whom are women under 24. The potential purchase was reported by CNBC, who cited sources close to the company.
Talks of a new acquisition by Twitter have been circulating after CFO Anthony Noto accidentally tweeted a message regarding plans for a deal with an unnamed company on Monday. 
Bieber invested $1.1m (£700,000) during the companys second round of funding in November 2013, and promoted the app to his 57.1m Twitter followers. Other celebrities including Ariana Grande and Floyd Mayweather are noted users of the app.
