Weekly Highlights: Mobile Wallet Mania

Welcome once again to our round up of this weeks biggest news and best articles.

If youve been watching the site carefully, you might have noticed the sheer number of stories about mobile wallets. Just today, Samsung Wallet landed in the US Play Store, Isis partnered with American Express, and Google dropped NFC redemption for its wallets loyalty functions.

Yesterday saw UK bakery brand Greggs announcing its plans for a loyalty-focused wallet app, and PayPal launching picture-verified mobile payments through a limited pilot in Richmond, London.

Elsewhere, Kirsty Styles spoke to Trader Media Group marketing director Jonathan Williams about the publishers recent decision to go digital-only. Williams revealed that 30 per cent of visits to the Auto Trader site come via mobile, a number he expects to exceed 50 per cent within a year.

Hungry for more? I played with the Radio Alan app, tying into the long-awaited release of the Alan Partridge film this week. We shone a  spotlight on mobile giving company Open Fundraising. Finally, Kirsty Styles spoke to mobile loyalty platform Clutch, which has just landed $5.3m funding.
As ever, thats just a small sample of what the site had to offer over the past five days.

Thanks for reading, have a good weekend, and well be back on Monday morning.
