Mobile ad network AdMob has released advertising stats for April. The data reveal that the total number of ad impressions on the AdMob network increased by 1.6% over the previous month to 2,595 billion, from 2,553 billion. The stats also show that 25% of ad requests in the global AdMob network were from Smartphones, and that US requests increased by 5.1%, exceeding overall network growth.
In terms of the most popular devices by country, the top spots were retained by the same devices that crept into first place in March, namely, the Sony Ericsson K800i (UK); RAZR V3 (US); Nokia N70 (India); Motorola v360 (S. Africa); and the Nokia 6600 (Indonesia).
April also saw a couple of new entries in the device ranking as the Amoi 8512 made its debut at fifth place in the UK, with 2.7% of UK traffic, and the iPhone moved into AdMobs top 20 devices worldwide.
