AGCS takes back full control with management buyout

AGCS co-founder, Niels Berkhout

Digital production agency AGCS co-founders, Niels Berkhout and Justin Campbell and investor Floris van Alkemade have taken back 100 per cent control of the firm in the Netherlands.

AGCS is taking on a (new direction and moving away from an unnamed international agency group in order to pursue new growth in the development of augmented reality, DOOH (Digital Out of Home) and TikTok ads. AGCS has acquired 47 per cent of the shares from the agency group for an undisclosed sum, and now maintains full control of the agency.

AGCS (formerly AdGibbon) has evolved over the last three years from a mobile rich media platform to a digital production agency that supports advertisers and creative agencies including Universal Pictures, Ubisoft, 180KingsDay & 72andSunny. The agency has active clients in the Netherlands, UK, Germany and the US.

“It’s the right time for the company to claim 100 per cent independence and explore new partnerships,” said COO Niels Berkhout. “Market demands are changing rapidly, and we are adding more production expertise, and continue to provide the very best service as a specialist production agency.

“We’ve had positive experiences in the past, however now it’s time to make a break and expand as an independent outfit. We feel developments in mobile AR an DOOH advertising will be the focus of our growth in the coming years. It’s a very exciting time for everyone in the company.”
