Amazon Prime members can now choose their delivery day

Amazon has released a new feature that allows Prime members to pick the most convenient day of the week to receive all of their packages, using Amazon Day. Starting today, Prime members in the U.S are able to go to their Amazon account and choose a designated delivery day in which all of their packages will arrive, no matter the order date.

By consolidating shipments, Amazon will also reduce the number of boxes used, in compliance with the company’s sustainable Shipment Zero initiative. In order to become more environmentally friendly, Amazon is aiming to eventually make all shipments net zero carbon, setting a goal to have half of all shipments net zero by 2030.

If a customer does not wish to include a specific item in their delivery day shipment, they can easily choose another Prime shipping method for that individual product. If a customer wishes to change their delivery day of the week for any reason, they can do so via the checkout page.

“Amazon Day adds another level of convenience to the many shipping benefits Prime members already enjoy. Prime members can now choose to get their orders delivered together in fewer boxes whenever possible on the day that works best for them,” said Maria Renz, vice president, Delivery Experience at Amazon. “We’ve been testing this program with a group of Prime members and Amazon Day has already reduced packaging by tens of thousands of boxes – a number that will only continue to grow now that the program is available to Prime members nationwide.”
