Warburtons/Golden Gekko – Red Insights

Red Insight is a tablet app that Golden Gekko developed for the Retail Team at Warburtons.

With more than 20,000 stores across the UK carrying Warburtons products, and over 4,500 employees, Warburtons objective was to create a productivity app that did not merely add a layer of complexity to existing business processes, but made life easier on a daily basis for the Retail Field Team.

Ease of use was crucial for this app to be adopted as the group of users ranged in age from 25-55. For both Warburtons and Golden Gekko, the critical success factors of the project were the speed at which a user could enter the data and a clear improvement of efficiency.

The app mobilizes the process of capturing in-store product data, and equips the team with real-time storecard details, access to marketing and promotion collateral, and an interactive product catalogue. It saves time, creates front line efficiencies, and automatically updates corporate backend systems.

Prior to the launch of Red Insight, each member of the Retail Field Team, was spending one  day each week taking all the information they captured from the field on paper and inputting it into Warburtons’ internal systems. Today, the company estimates it is saving an estimated 5,000 working days on a yearly basis, thanks to time saved which was previously taken up inputting data. The app has proved hugely popular with the people who use it.
