Chipotle is partnering with Venmo to launch its loyalty program

Chipotle Mexican Grill has announced the national launch of its new loyalty program, Chipotle Rewards, as well as a limited-time offer for customers who also use the Venmo digital wallet.  As part of the Chipotle Rewards launch, Chipotle is using Venmo to give out up to $250,000 to 25,000 fans a day now through March 15.

Customers who sign up for Chipotle Rewards via the website or app will receive 10 points for every $1 spent in-store or online. Accumulating 1,250 points lands a member a free Chipotle entrée such as a burrito or burrito bowl. Like other rewards programs, Chipotle will use extra point days to incentivize customers. The program will also give members free chips and guacamole with their first Chipotle Rewards purchase, and surprise birthday rewards.

“Similar to how we build restaurants where people live and work, we want to have a presence in all of the places our customers spend time digitally,” said Curt Garner, chief technology officer at Chipotle. “Chipotle Rewards is another access point for consumers; a way for guests to engage with our promise of real ingredients prepared fresh daily and a way for us to say thank you for joining our mission of cultivating a better world.”

Chipotle fans can win between $1 and $500 by submitting the phone number linked to their Venmo account at ChipotleRewardMe.com. Within 24 hours, rewarded consumers will be alerted via Venmo with a note from Chipotle and the new custom Chipotle pepper emoji.
