Coinbase launches crypto Visa debit card

Coinbase has launched a debit card alongside Visa to give its customers a way to actually spend their cryptocurrencies both in-store and online.
The Coinbase Card can be used with any merchant on the Visa network and enables customers to pay using their stored Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin by instantly converting crypto to fiat currency, such as GBP.
The Visa debit card has an accompanying Coinbase Card app, where customers can switch between the crypto wallets they wish to use on the card. The app, available on Android and iOS, is linked to the main Coinbase app upon first downloading and opening it and, as such, there’s no need to transfer crypto between the two. 
For the first 1,000 people to join the waitlist for the card, Coinbase is waiving the £4.95 card issuance fee. The card is currently only available in the UK but Coinbase plans to introduce it to other European countries ‘in the coming months’.
