Dominos App Comes to Windows Phone 8

Dominos Pizza has launched a Windows Phone 8 app in the US.

The WP8 version is the first Dominos app to feature capabilities, with users able to order their pizza from the menu by speaking the name of the item theyd like to order. The app also enables users to pin their current order as a tile on the OSs homescreen, meaning they can track the progress of their order.

“Mobile ordering is our fastest growing segment, and were thrilled to be bringing our app to Windows Phone,” said Russell Weiner, CMO at Dominos. “Were committed to offering convenience to our customers wherever they might be, and with this new app, were able to extend that commitment even further.”

Mobile accounts for a third of all Dominos digital orders – which in turn make up more than third of all orders.

Its worth noting that the Dominos UK WP8 app, which launched back in March, featured a similar range of functions and more, in the form of NFC compatibility and more wide-reaching voice controls. However, according to a spokesperson for Dominos Pizza, the two apps were developed independently, and “are not related in any way”.
