eBay has partnered with Strictly dancer Oti Mabuse to introduce a spring-cleaning challenge.
Named ‘List to £1K’, the initiative urges people in the UK to break down their spring cleaning into three manageable weekly tasks to help them stay motivated.
Participants should focus on seasonal items and utilise eBay’s AI listing tools to potentially earn up to £1000,
According to research from eBay, 75% of respondents were planning to spring clean, with 43% of them aiming to create more space in their homes.
Over half (54%) admit to holding onto items “just in case” they might need them someday, while a quarter feel they don’t have the time for a spring clean (25%) or aren’t sure where to begin (21%).
However, 42% of people believe that breaking a spring clean into smaller, manageable tasks is the best way to get started, the research said.
Mabuse said: “I always look forward to spring cleaning as a fresh start ahead of the warmer months, but this year I’m particularly motivated to do so having just moved house, with plenty of items that deserve a new home.
“I always try to stay on top of baby items that my daughter outgrows, my own wardrobe and the ever-packed kitchen cupboards. That’s why I can’t wait to get stuck into eBay’s ‘List to £1K’ challenge to clear out items my family no longer needs, give those items a second lease of life, and make space for what matters most.”
