EE has entered into an exclusive partnership with Niantic to provide customers with special rewards and more ways to experience the Pokémon Go maker’s latest mobile game, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
EE pay monthly customers are being given inclusive data to play the game until 30 September 2019, meaning they don’t have to worry about the game affecting their data allowance. The partnership will also see EE retail stores appear in the game as sponsored Inns and Fortresses, which offer ‘bigger and better’ rewards and energy boosts, as well as special assignments.
Customers who choose a smartphone on a 4G or 5G EE Smart Plan will receive a £50 Statute of Secrecy Supply Cache of in-game rewards, enabling them to purchase more than 40 in-game items. People who select Essential Plans will receive a £20 Statute of Secrecy Supply Case, providing them with at least 15 in-game items.
“We’re the UK’s best network for gaming – so we’re the natural partner for Niantic on Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, allowing fans to get the very most from the exciting new gaming experience on the go,” said Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s consumer division. “With data on us and EE Inns and Fortresses to visit – EE customers can don their wizarding robes and lose themselves in the latest iteration of Harry Potter’s magical world.”
This summer will also see EE launch a Gamer’s Data Pass, worth £7.99 a month, which is also available as a Swappable Benefit for all 4G and 5G Smart Plan customers. The pass will cover all the data customers use on games, services, and streaming on Twitch.
