Finance brand Experian has launched Jangle, an iOS money management app aimed at children.
Designed and built by digital agency Dare, the app is intended to children teach money management capabilities such as saving, budgeting and being a savvy consumer. Kids can create piggy-bank-style savings pots for any items they want to buy. To help them earn the money, parents can pick tasks from the apps pre-set activities or add their own, and then add money to the pot as tasks are completed.
“Parents have such a crucial role to play in helping shape children’s attitudes and behaviours towards money but that is a big responsibility and they often don’t get enough support,” said Experian Consumer MD Clive Lawson. “The money skills children could learn by using Jangle will help them not only learn to save, to budget, the value of a pound that has been earned but also skills in becoming a savvy consumer. These are the skills we all probably wish we had learnt earlier in life.”
