Go-Jek extends ride-hailing across Singapore

Go-JekGo-Jek has expanded its ride-hailing service to all of Singapore after trialling the service in select areas of the island since November.

In May last year, the Indonesian ride-hailing firm announced its plans to invest $500m in extending its services across Southeast Asia. This investment has seen it setup in Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore over the last few months – with the Philippines and Malaysia to gain Go-Jek’s services soon.

When launching in Singapore, the company introduced a beta version of its app which only enabled certain people to ride to and from certain areas of Singapore. These areas included the Central Business District, Jurong East, Changi, Punggol, Ang Mo Kio, and Sentosa. Now, this beta has rolled out to select people across the island.

“Following our successful limited service area rollout, Go-Jek is excited to announce that we will extend our ride-hailing services to the whole of Singapore with effect from 2 January 2019,” Go-Jek told Channel NewsAsia. “Our island-wide rollout is part of our continued beta phase, during which DBS/POSB Bank customers continue to enjoy priority access to the app.”
