Mansfield town centre becomes first to introduce Rewarding Visits technology

Rewarding Visits, which helps create digital high streets, has introduced its technology to Nottinghamshire market town Mansfield – becoming the first town centre to upgrade into a ‘digital high street’.

The launch, which is an extension of the Mansfield BID’s (Business Improvement District) existing ‘I Love Mansfield’ scheme, has seen four digital touchpoints placed around the town centre. These touchpoints – in the Four Seasons shopping centre, Mansfield Central library, bus station and Vision West Nottinghamshire College – enable shoppers to print vouchers to use on offers and promotions at businesses in the town. Offers can be viewed through a mobile app or at the touchpoints.

“We are very excited to be launching our technology in Mansfield and are sure that it will be a hit with shoppers and local retailers alike,” said Guy Chatburn, Rewarding Visits founder.

“It was fairly straightforward for us to adapt the existing initiative for use with our technology, and our ability to create microsites supporting schemes meant the BID team didn’t need to commission a new website or app.”

Rewarding Visits says that around 120 retailers – ranging from Boots and Wetherspoon’s to small locally-owned independents – have launched promotions, with over 1,000 locals having signed up to the scheme.

Sarah Nelson, manager at Mansfield BID, said: “We are proud that, once again, Mansfield is one of the first towns in the UK to get such high-tech systems that will help to drive footfall into the town centre.”
