McCoys Launches Bullseye Challenge QR Code Promo

McCoys has teamed up with the Professional Darts Championship (PDC) to launch an interactive QR code campaign on new limited edition packs, Peppered ‘Bullseye’ Steak and Pickled ‘One Onion and Eighty’.

After scanning the code, darts fans try to beat the pros in a virtual one- or three-dart ‘Bullseye Challenge’. If successful, they could win a once-in-a-lifetime visit to their local pub from two top level PDC players, with food and drink thrown in for the winner and three friends. A weekly draw will see one lucky person walk away with an Xbox 360.

McCoys marketing director, George Johnston, said: “We have seen our McCoy’s consumers really get involved with our PDC darts initiatives, and this promotion sees a natural evolution of our involvement with PDC Darts.

“Crucially, the McCoy’s consumer is now more mobile and socially connected, so this activity makes the most of these opportunities, giving our consumer the opportunity to connect with us, and enjoy McCoy’s wherever they are.”

People can also enter via desktop and Facebook and the QR code effort will be supported by a social media campaign to drive traffic and increase sales for retailers. The McCoy’s brand is worth £111m to KP Snacks, growing by 15 per cent in the year to date.
