Meme Apps Releases WM and Android IDE

Meme Apps has released its Meme IDE 1.14 business apps development platform, after several months of beta testing. The IDE (integrated development environment) is available for Windows Mobile 6.5 and Android 2.1 and above.

Version 1.14 of the IDE includes support for in-app phone dialling and photo capture, as well as a number of bug fixes.

Graphics screen designers are included for both platforms, as well as code-generation features. There is also an Android emulator for testing of apps.

Meme IDE is built around the Eclipse RCP framework. The company says development times should be reduced by up to three times compared to conventional IDEs.

The software has a free for life option, which locks a Meme splash screen onto apps for five seconds upon startup. It can be downloaded from the Meme Apps website, where you can also enquire about paid-for versions, which start at $200 (around £125) per month. Existing users can upgrade to Meme IDE Premium for free before 31 December as part of a special offer.

Registration with Meme also gives developers access to tutorials, demonstrations, video support and webinars.

Meme Apps says Meme IDE 1.14 will be available on iOS and Blackberry in early 2012.
