Movember launches fundraising campaign with star-studded lineup

Movember has partnered with a star-studded lineup, including mental health advocate and former Love Island contestant Dr. Alex George, along with Olympic gymnast Max Whitlock, to launch its annual month-long fundraising initiative.

The campaign features celebrities at various stages of the moustache-growing journey, showcasing a series of playful portraits that celebrate moustaches of all kinds—from sparse ones to none at all, to impressive bushy ‘taches.

Also participating are pundit and former rugby player Ugo Monye, Sunday Brunch host Simon Rimmer, Welsh broadcaster Matt Johnson, British actors Kola Bokinni and Jack James Ryan, as well as Paralympian Blaine Hunt and the stars of Gogglebox.

This new campaign arises from recent Movember research indicating that over one in three (33%) Brits view the inability to grow a moustache as a significant barrier to participating in previous Movember fundraising efforts.

Nearly a quarter of British men (24%) reported that dissatisfaction with their moustache growth deterred them from joining in, while almost a fifth (17%) were unaware of alternative fundraising options beyond growing a moustache.

November’s research also showed that two in three Brits (66%) have been affected by mental health issues, either personally or through someone they know. Nearly half (42%) have been impacted by suicide, around 27% by prostate cancer, and one in five by testicular cancer.

Movember UK & Europe country director Anne-Cecile Berthier said: “Here at Movember, we’re driven by a bold mission to change the face of men’s health. But that mission isn’t ours to tackle alone.”

“To truly make a difference, we need to unite our global community of supporters. Moustache or no moustache, there are countless ways to show support and get involved—from moving 60km this month, hosting an event, or taking on an epic challenge. We encourage everyone to answer the call and participate this Movember to help prevent men from dying too young.”
