Movers and Shakers: Integral Ad Science, Buzzoole, Phrasee, Telescope, Stitch Labs

IAS appoints Lucia as CTO
Integral Ad Science (IAS) has hired Tony Lucia as its CTO, effective 1 April 2019. He will focus on scaling the IAS engineering and data science team, driving migration of IAS technology to the cloud, and partnering with the product team to build solutions globally.
Lucia most recently served as SVP of software and data engineering at iCarbonX company Patients Like Me. He boasts over 25 years’ experience in the healthcare and media tech sectors and has previously held senior roles IAC Applications, John Wiley & Sons, and Thomson Reuters Healthcare.
He will be based in New York and report to CEO Lisa Utzschneider. From here, he will oversee the entire research and development team.

Female trio join influencer marketing platform Buzzoole
Buzzoole has appointed Melissa Lee as global operations director, Jane Roy as VP of the America, and Manola Pegoraro as global CFO, as well as promoting Sarah Whitfield to global CMO.
Pegoraro brings both media and digital agency finance experience to Buzzoole and will be working to drive a strategy which supports the growth of the business. Whitfield will be responsible for overseeing all global marketing and communication strategies, and Lee will lead the global campaign operations strategy and talent marketplace development. Roy, who joins from influencer marketing and video specialists gen.video and Reelio, has been tasked with building the US side of the business from Buzzoole’s New York headquarters.
“These new hires represent the next stage in our development as a truly global fast-growing business, and all four of these immensely talented women will help ensure that we stay at the forefront of the industry,” said Fabrizio Perrone, co-founder and CEO of Buzzoole.
Phrasee brings in Feely and Stephen
Mike Feely and Neil Stephen have joined AI marketing platform Phrasee. Feely joins as the company’s new CFO, while Stephen arrives as VP of customer success.
Feely brings with him a wealth of experience in SaaS, telecoms, technology and professional services. Most recently, Mike was CFO at Dealflo, a VC-backed SaaS provider. He will oversee the commercial running of Phrasee as it continues to scale its operations both in the UK and North America.
“I have been following Phrasee’s incredible story from afar with interest and admiration. It is one of the stand-out UK technology stories of recent years and the business has bold ambitions for the future. 2018 has been an epic year and I look forward to helping build on this in 2019 and beyond,” said Feely.
Stephen brings over 20 years’ experience to Phrasee, having worked for a number of SaaS start-up firms overseeing customer operations, insight and success. Neil also worked for London 2012, where he was responsible for the programme management and physical infrastructure required to deliver time-critical and complex applications for two major sports events across several communications channels.
“Phrasee’s technology is truly unique, as evidenced in the results it delivers for the incredible global brands that make up its customer base,” said Stephen. “Beyond that, the culture within the team, the wider philosophy of its leadership and the importance it places on ethics in business, and AI, in particular, makes it stand out as an incredible business to work for. Brown promoted to UK managing director at Telescope
Kevin Brown has been appointed UK managing director at Telescope, an audience engagement and social technology company, having previously operated as the firm’s creative director.
Brown joined Telescope in April 2018 following almost 10 years at Brothers and Sisters. Prior to that, he held various roles at IPC Media, Virgin Media, BskyB, and the Express Newspapers Group.
“It is a fantastic time to work on digital and social campaigns when the audience can not only participate, but also shape the story and make it their own,” he said. “After spending many years working in the media industry I’m very excited to join Telescope, who are true leaders in digital innovation. Fan and viewer engagement is becoming one of the most important metrics for all businesses and Telescope knows how to deliver campaigns that create those authentic, two-way conversations.”

Stitch Labs makes a couple of senior hires
Stitch Labs, an operations management platform for high-growth brands, has hired John Dawes and Yuval Yatskan. Dawes has been appointed the CPO and Yuval Yatskan will serve as the VP of Marketing.
Dawes was the lead for developing product strategy, optimising product development processes, and growing product teams as an operating executive at Lithium, Tealeaf (acquired by IBM) and several early-stage startups. Previously, he held product leadership roles at Netscape/AOL and Adobe.
“As an executive in residence at Costanoa, Id been advising Stitch Labs for several months and fell in love with the team and the opportunity to transform how brands manage their operations to drive high growth,” said Dawes. “Im really excited to be joining the team at Stitch Labs.”
Yatskan was formerly the head of marketing at Skava, and filled various leadership roles at Salesforce, Cisco and Symantec.
“I am very excited to join the unique and talented team at Stitch Labs,” said Yatskan. “Stitch has embarked on an ambitious journey to redefine its space and create a new category of operations management platform, putting the operations team in the centre. I am privileged and honoured to join such a talented and motivated team and hope to shape and lead these efforts.”
