O2 launches new brand platform: ‘Essential For Living’

O2, in partnership with its global creative agency VCCP, has unveiled a new brand platform and positioning, centered around connecting customers with life’s most exciting moments.

The platform reinforces O2’s role as ‘Essential For Living,’ emphasising the brand’s ability to enable unforgettable experiences.

This new direction revisits O2’s founding message from 2002, presenting the brand as an enabler of life’s greatest moments. It highlights the excitement and rewards O2 offers, focusing on emotional connections and putting customers at the centre of memorable experiences.

The campaign launches with a 60-second film titled ‘First Breath,’ which captures a newborn baby’s first moments and imagines their future. Narrated by Sean Bean, the voice of O2 for over two decades, the film explores the range of emotions and experiences the child is yet to encounter. It also introduces the O2 logo in a fresh way, using the ‘O’ as a portal to showcase the experiences enabled by O2, such as live music, sports, and travel.

The integrated campaign includes TV, social media, influencer marketing, cinema, and OOH flyposting. It also highlights O2’s services, including Priority offers, EU roaming with up to 25GB, and 99% 4G coverage across the UK.

This new platform is a celebration of what the O2 name stands for and the role it plays in giving us the freedom to live life to the fullest.”
