One in Seven Impressions is from Tablets, says Adfonic Report

Nearly one in seven mobile ads was served on a tablet by the end of 2012, according to Adfonic’s Global AdMertics Report for Q4. The share of mobile ad impressions on tablets climbed from 9 per cent in Q2 2012, when Adfonic first measured it, to 14 per cent by the final quarter, an increase of 56 per cent.

The tablet share of ad requests increased by 40 per cent during the festive season, with Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD nearly doubling its share of impressions of devices on the Android platform. Despite having fewer handsets globally, iOS ended 2012 just two per cent behind Android in terms of impressions. Both Apple tablets and smartphones have the highest CTRs.

Adfonic analyses more than 100bn monthly impressions for the report.
