Discount retailer Poundland launched an iOS and Android app, which displays its product range, categorised by offer or theme. Developed by Cogent Elliott, the free app also includes a store locator, with an overlaid street view function to show users how far away, and in which direction, their nearest branch is.
“Household budgets continue to be squeezed and more and more people are now taking the time to shop around to ensure they save money,” says Poundland CEO Jim McCarthy. “We wanted to provide our customers with an app to make it easy for them to see what bargains they can find in store, as well as attracting new customers into our store.”
