SoundCloud launches tool for music distribution to other major services

SoundCloud appSoundCloud has added a new way for its premium subscribers to monetise their music with the introduction of a distribution feature that enables creators to distribute original music from SoundCloud to all other major music services.

SoundCloud Premier distribution has been made available to creators using SoundCloud Pro and SoundCloud Pro Unlimited in an open beta. The feature enables them to upload their original SoundCloud tracks directly to services, including Amazon Music, Apple Music, Instagram, Spotify, Tencent, YouTube Music, and more, at no additional cost.

“Only SoundCloud empowers creators with a unified platform to instantly upload and share, connect with fans in real-time and get paid for their work everywhere – both on SoundCloud and across other leading music services,” said Kerry Trainor, SoundCloud CEO. “Creators can now spend less time and money jumping between different tools, and more time making music, connecting with fans and growing their careers first on SoundCloud.”

The distribution tool open beta is available to premium subscribers who have original music to which they own or control all applicable rights. They must be 18 years old or age of the majority in their country and have no copyright strikes at the time of enrolment, as well as having at least 1,000 plays in the past month from countries where SoundCloud listener subscriptions and advertising are available.

SoundCloud says it will begin to rollout the functionality to the monetisation toolset of all premium subscribers over the next few months.
