Spotify launches hub to Amplify important issues, starts with celebration of women

Spotify Womens History MonthMusic streaming platform Spotify has introduced a hub that focuses on important topics throughout the year such as gender equality, mental health, LGBTQ rights, and immigration.

The ‘Amplify’ section, available to users in the US and Canada, has launched today with ‘Amplify Women’ to celebrate both International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month. Amplify Women will feature podcasts and playlists that represent women – including a playlist called Amplify: Women of the World featuring artists like Raisa x Isyana from Indonesia, Saara Aalto from Finland, and Fatouma Diawara from Mali.

In addition to the new hub, and with the global surge in Latin music, Spotify will also highlight the voices of Latin women within the music industry through its Latin hub. To kick this off, Spotify has released a video interview with Demi Lovato – where she is seen recording the Spanish version of her song Tell Me You Love Me and discussing gender equality, her confidence as a woman, and more. Both the song and the video will be available on Viva Latino within the Latin hub until 15 March. There is also a special podcast featuring Becky G available.
