However, the company revealed it will not replace the Global Chief Marketing position and instead each geographic CEO will have regional marketing support.

In his new position, Brewer will head up the coffee brands’s Asia Pacific, EMEA, Japan and LAC teams, boasting over 20 years of experience within the company, serving in global, regional and market-specific roles, including as SVP of Starbucks Asia Pacific, COO of Starbucks Japan and most recently, EVP, CMO.

He will begin the new post as CEO of Starbucks International on 1 April.

In a statement on the brand’s website, Starbucks CEO Laxman Narasimhan said: “We are making strong progress against our Triple Shot with Two Pumps Reinvention plan.

“To further accelerate progress, consistent with our ambitions, we are realigning the organisation to balance clear geographical focus with investing in functional capabilities to scale around the world, generating productivity and reinvigorating our partner culture.”

Narasimhan added: “As we look to the future, the opportunity we have is truly limitless.”

“Throughout our history, we have continued to reinvent not who we are or what we stand for, but what we do and how we connect with our customers and deliver our long-term aspirations. Because of our partners, and with our strategic plan and world class-leadership team, the best days of Starbucks are ahead of us.”
