WATCH: Amazon Prime showcases aspiring young women footballers in new ad

Amazon Prime has launched a new campaign showcasing the story of two young aspiring US football stars, highlighting the wide versatility and range of its services.

Created by the creative agency Wieden + Kennedy London, the 30-second ad features two sisters who compete with each other in their quest to become professional football players.

Titled “The Best,” this ad is part of Amazon’s ongoing “It’s on Prime” campaign, which aims to demonstrate how Amazon Prime can assist customers with any products or services they need.

“Our newest ‘It’s on Prime’ ad celebrates the inspiring culture of sport during an Olympic summer and leading into the second half of the National Women’s Soccer League on Prime Video,” Amazon VP Global Chief Creative Officer, Jo Shoesmith, said.

“The ad showcases Prime’s ability to cater to each member’s unique interests, passions, and life stages in a film that captures the incredible spirit of women’s sports.”

Wieden + Kennedy London Creative Directors Lucas Reis and Charlie Lanus, added: “Inspired by the National Women’s Soccer League, we were really excited to tell a story about women in soccer. We were particularly struck by the insight that, compared with the men’s game, female sports marketing often softens the portrayal of female competition.

“The story of two competitive sisters felt like the perfect one to tell for this iteration of Amazon’s ‘Its on Prime’ campaign. We were incredibly lucky to find brilliant twins who could not only act but play soccer too.”
