Website creation platform Weebly has launched an iOS app which enables users to create and edit a blog or website. The app accompanies the companys existing web app, and enables users to edit text, images, and video, moderate comments, and view analytics.

“We believe it is critical to give our users a mobile complement to the web experience, as bloggers, website creators, and small business owners increasingly need to communicate with their audiences on the fly,” says David Rusenko, co-founder and CEO of Weebly. “Our goal with the app was to make it easy and simple for anyone to create and update entirely from their phone, particularly as mobile devices become more intrinsic to our everyday lives. Most of us want to share photos and videos the moment they are captured – or respond to customers and clients immediately – and the app’s simple drag and drop features make the process a breeze.”

With 11m users, Weebly apparently powers over two per cent of sites on the web.
