Indonesia’s largest daily newspaper, Kompas, has launched an iPad app version of the publication. The iPad version is produced using WoodWings Digital Magazine Tools software.
V.13 of the software, released recently, offers web link functionality; HTML5 widgets that enable interactive functionality, such as 360-degree product view displays; and a Table of Contents (TOC) button, which is available in the Navigation bar.
Kompas was founded in 1965. It is read by more than 2m readers every day, and its website attracts 15m unique visitors per month and its one of the largest news portals in Indonesia. It has a track-record of innovation, using QR Codes in editorial content and Augmented Reality for editorial and advertising.
John Fong, CEO of Serious Group, a leading WoodWing solution partner in Asia says: “Although producing a daily iPad newspaper with a magazine look and feel may seem quite labour-intensive, we proved this is very easily achieved using WoodWings solution, InDesign templates and smart automation tools.”
