12m Downloads of Office for iPad in Just a Week

Microsoft took to Twitter to celebrate 12m downloads of its Office for iPad app since it launched just a week ago.
The app offers limited document viewing and editing in the free version, with Office 365 subscibers able to use the full functionality.
Had the 12m downloads come from people buying Office for the first time, the company could have made more than $2bn – if they went for the £219.99 standard home and office package. 
But it is pretty likely that these people were existing Office users keen to edit presentations and documents on the go.
