A new augmented reality experience is coming to SUNY Orange

Orange County Community College (SUNY Orange) is getting North Americas first student recruitment augmented reality (AR) campaign, thanks to AR platform Imagination Park Technologies. Using Imagination Park’s XenoPlay app, students will be able to point their phones towards logos, signs, and other landmarks on campus and reveal exclusive school news, updates, coupons and more.

“We plan on using augmented reality in conjunction with our students’ return to campus in August in order to enhance their SUNY Orange experience,” said Vinnie Cazzetta, SUNY Orange’s VP of institutional advancement. “We host a series of events that welcome new and returning students alike back to our campuses. In conjunction with those events, and throughout the semester, we’ll use augmented reality to help direct students to those support services that are so critical to their academic success.”

“SUNY Orange is the first college in North America to use Imagination Parks augmented reality to improve campus experiences for students,” said Alen Paul Silverrstieen, CEO of Imagination Park. “SUNY Orange’s planned campaigns will help engage and retain students, a truly amazing and unique use case of our AR platform that we had not envisioned before and believe will have broad interest on campuses across North America.”

Through the Imagination Park XenoHolographic product suite, SUNY Orange faculty, staff, and students will gain access to a content management system, automatic converter of physical objects into AR objects for Android and iOS, virtual AR-based scavenger hunts, and other interactive features.
