Amazon finalises $4bn GenAI investment in Anthropic

Amazon has concluded its $4 billion investment in Anthropic, adding $2.75 billion to complete the deal in the generative AI (GenAI) company, which it acquired a minority stake in last year.

As a result, the ecommerce giant is now Anthropic’s primary provider primary cloud provider for mission-critical workloads, including safety research and future foundation model development.

Meanwhile, Anthropic made a long-term commitment to provide AWS customers around the world with access to future generations of its foundation models on Amazon Bedrock.
