The news comes as last month, Voodoo completed its acquisition of BeReal for €500 million.

As part of the deal, the CEO of Wizz, Aymeric Roffé, replaced BeReal’s founder and former CEO Barreyat.

In a statement to PocketGamer, the company said: “As we focus on our next steps and growing BeReal in a sustainable way, we made the difficult decision to let some team members go.

“We will be supporting impacted team members and are incredibly grateful for their contributions. We are committed to maintaining BeReal’s mission and values and to continue to build a place where our users can connect with people they are closest to.”
