Fox Sports and Twitter partner for FIFA Women’s World Cup Now

Fox Sports and Twitter have partnered together to launch FIFA Women’s World Cup Now, which will broadcast exclusive 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup coverage on Twitter. The FIFA Women’s World Cup Now program layout will resemble the 2018 FIFA World Cup coverage, which was also streamed by Twitter and Fox Sports in a previous collaboration and acquired more than 7m views. Video content for FIFA Women’s World Cup Now will consist of live-tweeting, feature match previews, recaps, highlights, guest appearances and more.

“As the leader in live sports, Fox Sports will be bringing fans the seminal event of the summer —Team USAs attempt to become back-to-back FIFA Womens World Cup champions,” said Fox Sports executive VP digital David Katz. “After an amazing 2018 World Cup with Twitter that exceeded expectations, we are thrilled to expand our partnership to bring soccer fans closer to the storylines and personalities that will captivate them.”

The program will stream from Paris starting on 7 June and will continue until 7 July, with an episode airing each day there is a match. Fox Sports plans on live-tweeting each goal that is scored in the tournament and adding pre-World Cup content to the social media platform. Twitter will also be sharing exclusive SheBelieves Cup coverage to users, which will feature teams from US, Brazil, England and Japan. The SheBelieves Cup tournament will take place 27 Feburary to 5 March.

“After last summers successful Twitter/Fox Sports programming collaboration, this expanded effort will bring our engaged audience even closer to the action and top stories from this seminal event in France,” said Kay Madati, VP and global head of content partnerships at Twitter.
