Hersheys partners with Cargo to bring Easter candy to Uber passengers

Cargo, the in-car commerce provider of snacks, beauty products, and other services to Uber passengers, has teamed up with The Hershey Company ahead of the Easter season. Now, Uber passengers can purchase or grab a free sample of some of Hershey’s most popular chocolate candies, including Reese’s Easter Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Eggs and Cadbury Crème eggs. Passengers can use their Cargo app to pay for all items in a Cargo box, including snacks, drinks, tech accessories, and skincare products.

“This Easter, we’re thrilled to be bringing our iconic Reese’s and Cadbury eggs to all Cargo users while supplies last,” said Jan Grinstead, senior brand manager, Easter & holiday for The Hershey Company.

Hershey and Cargo decided to move forward with their partnership after a successful trial run throughout March. The Hershey Company, which sells over 500m chocolate eggs annually, recently redirected their efforts towards millennials and Gen Z, after discovering consumers ages 18 – 34 have increased their Easter spending.

“We are proud to be building a strong partnership with Cargo. We believe their model has the potential to be one of the fastest growing, technology-enabled retail platforms in snacking. Most importantly, they provide us with new and unique ways to connect with our consumers while they are on-the-go,” said Allen Dark, director, disruptive growth for The Hershey Company.
