Instagram has teamed up with male suicide prevention charity Calm (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and The Mix, which offers information and crisis support for under 25s, to support young people’s mental health during the stressful exam period.

The partnership brings about the launch of the latest instalment of #GramFam, a series of Instazines aimed at supporting young people’s mental health through moments of stress.

This time around there is involvement from the likes of Jameela Jamil, Love Island’s Dr Alex George and Montana Brown, Michael Dapaah, Ray BLK, The World Record Egg, Libby’s Happy Project, Jim Chapman, and more. For the series, these actors, musicians, poets, illustrators, and influencers share advice and tips about exams and revision.

“The reaction to this campaign has been great, both from our audience and from the people who have taken part so far such as Dr Alex, Lewis Capaldi, DJ Neev, MOB Kitchen and Calm ambassadors Romesh Ranganathan and Loyle Carner,” said Simon Gunning, Calm CEO. “We’re looking forward to #GramFam Live delivering entertaining and funny content with an important message underpinned throughout.”

Calm and The Mix chose to focus on exam stress in response to Instagram data which showed a 640 per cent increase in the use of the hashtag #examstress from March to May 2018. The Mix also recorded a 114 per cent spike in young people getting in touch about exam worries in May 2018.
