Mobile Marketing Live Preview – Retail Sector

Welcome to the first of a weekly preview of some of the great presentations you can hear at Mobile Marketing Live, our new 2-day conference, exhibition and networking event, covering a wide section of verticals, disciplines and sectors. But youve got to start somewhere, so where better than a look of the speakers from the retail sector who will be presenting at the event?

On Day 1, Paul Francis, head of commercial systems at Dominos Pizza, will be explaining how and why mCommerce has worked for the company. Dominos has enjoyed great success on mobile – it currently sees 16 per cent of its sales come through mobile channels, and has a range of apps, including the recently launched Domigoals, and regularly works with Blippar on AR campaigns. Francis will be talk about Dominos journey to becoming one of the UKs leading mobile retailers, and how it promotes its brand through apps.

Day 2, meanwhile, will feature a talk from Debenhams mobile commerce manager Sarah Baillie, on how to deliver a successful mCommerce strategy. Debenhams last year picked up the Effective Mobile Marketing Award for a b2c app, and has recently rolled out free wi-fi in its stores. Baillie will be exploring Debenhams holistic mobile strategy, incorporating apps and a mobile site, and why mobile is a multichannel enabler for sales elsewhere.

Also speaking on Day 2 will be Zappos head of mobile Alex Kirmse, with insight into the online retailers learnings in mCommerce, as well as how the Zappos approach to customer service and company culture translates to mobile.

Finally, head of SEA and mobile at Zalando Sebastian Grebasch will look at performance-based mobile marketing. Zalando is a online store specialising in footwear, which originated in Germany and has since spread across Europe and into South Africa. Grebasch will explain how to design and implement a performance-based marketing strategy, including search and display advertising on mobile.

The retail sector is already well represented at the event on the delegate side too, with confirmed attendees from companies including Tesco, Miss Selfridge, Nectar, Hackett London, Homebase, and Legoland Discovery Centre.
