Nearly a year after introducing its Premium on-demand music service to Android and iOS, Pandora has finally made the service available on the web.
Since introducing the paid subscription service in March last year, it had only been available on Android and iOS smartphones, Google Chromecast, and in-vehicle via Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Honda, Hyundai, and more. This was despite free users of Pandora’s original radio service being able to listen to stations via their browsers. Now, that’s all changed.
With the Pandora Premium web app, subscribers are able to search for songs, albums, stations, or playlists on demand via a search based on their listening history. In addition, users are able to collect and organise songs and albums they come across in a ‘My Music’ section – which provides access to all the stations, artists, and playlists added.
Another feature of the web app is the ability to give Pandora the power to create soundtracks based on just one or two songs added to a playlist. From anywhere in the app, users are able to tap ‘Add Similar Songs’ and Pandora will curate a playlist. Or, if this isn’t quite up to what the user wants, Pandora will provide recommendations based on the songs added to playlists.
