Pandora is combining storytelling podcasts and music playlists

Pandora has launched a new storytelling feature, Pandora Stories, which combines music playlists with podcasts from artists and creators. The Stories feature also gives artists an opportunity to use exclusive commentary as an additional marketing technique.

“Podcasts can tell stories about music, but generally don’t include full songs. And playlists have songs, but lack personal context from the artists behind them. Pandora Stories have arrived to fill that void,” said Pandora.

The first collection of Pandora Stories includes John Legend, Daddy Yankee, Lauren Alaina, Perry Farrell, Wes Anderson music supervisor Randall Poster, and Amy Winehouse collaborator and Dap-Kings guitarist Tommy Brenneck. The collection also features an in-depth look at “Love Songs That Really Aren’t Love Songs,” and exclusive commentary by musical artists 2 Chainz and Rob Thomas.

Premium Pandora members are able to listen to Pandora Stories ad-free, while Pandora ad-listeners and Pandora Plus members can access Pandora Stories after watching a 30-second ad. Artists interested in collaborating with Stories can request access to podcast tools via Pandoras website.
