Rovios Hatch enters strategic partnership with NTT Docomo

Rovio Hatch NTT DocomoHatch Entertainment, Angry Birds developer Rovio’s video game streaming subsidiary, has received a minority investment from Japanese mobile operator NTT Docomo, which will see the service expand into Japan.

The partnership will see Hatch soft launched in Japan for Android phones and appear automatically on Docomo Android TV-based set top boxes on 13 February. Users will be offered a free 90-day trial membership of Hatch Premium. The service will be accessible through the user’s d Account, Docomo’s free membership service, and linked to d Point Club, Docomo’s points program.

Furthermore, Hatch will look to work with Docomo on promotional eSports opportunities and join forces with more game developers and publishers in Japan.
