Samsung teams up with Calm on mindfulness

Samsung Health CalmSamsung has joined forces with Calm, the meditation and relaxation app which recently achieved unicorn status, to give consumers access to the service through Samsung Health.

In order to access Calm via Samsung Health, users have to tap on the ‘Mindfulness’ icon in their Samsung Health app and follow the steps to sync or create a Calm account. With the integration, consumers are able to quickly access their favourite Calm meditation programs through Samsung Health on their smartphones, and pause and play meditation sessions and track their stress levels using their Galaxy Watches, among other things.

“Our work with Calm is going to make it easier than ever for Samsung Health users to practice mindfulness, so they can work towards achieving better overall health,” said Peter Koo, corporate SVP and head of the health service team in the mobile communications business at Samsung Electronics. “We’re excited to be partnering with Calm, a true innovator in the mindfulness space, to support better mental health for consumers around the world.”

The integration has initially been made available to Samsung smartphones running Android Pie OS in the UK, Ireland, US, Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, and South Africa. It is also available owners of the Galaxy Watch Active in the same locations.
