Time Dramatically Expands Online Video with Wochit Partnership

time incTime Inc has announced a partnership with cloud-based video creation platform Wochit in order to foster the rapid creation of real-time, short-form video content, with the aim of producing more than 40,000 videos over the course of the year for its various brands, including People, Sports Illustrated, InStyle and Time Magazine.

Wochit enables journalists, newsrooms and video content professionals to quickly and easily compile high quality video using pre-negotiated, rights-cleared footage and assets from news agencies including AP, Reuters, Getty, Bloomberg and more.

The partnership will add depth to Times video development capabilities, and aid its efforts to increase video production across all of its brands, especially with regard to breaking or trending news driven by developing stories and social media.

Through the partnership, Time video producers can incorporate Wochits technology into their daily editorial workflow to facilitate the rapid generation of video content that can then be shared across their brand sites, apps and social channels.

“Partnering with Wochit gives us a powerful tool to further accelerate the volume of our real-time video products, which we can integrate at the deepest levels across our sites and social channels,” said Brandon Fong, vice president of business development at Time Video.

“We are honoured that one of the worlds most esteemed media companies has selected our technology as a critical part of their forward-looking business strategy and commitment to online video,” said Drew Berkowitz, senior vice president at Wochit. “We are excited to support the content creation goals for Time Incs respected brands as they continue to engage and grow their digital audience with video.”
