Walgreens and DoorDash team up for on-demand delivery

Walgreens has teamed up with DoorDash to offer its customers on-demand delivery in cities across the US. Customers in Chicago, Atlanta, and Denver are the first to have access to the service through the DoorDash app and website, giving them on-demand access to over 2,300 items.

Walgreens items available via the DoorDash platform to those in Chicago, Atlanta, and Denver include select over-the-counter medications, and other household essentials and convenience products. The pair plan to offer more than 5,000 items for delivery by the end of the summer, while also expanding the service to Cincinnati, Cleveland, Minneapolis, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, Sacramento, and Seattle.

“Our collaboration with DoorDash is the latest example of our ongoing focus on enhancing our customer experience with new convenient, accessible and safe shopping and delivery options,” said Stefanie Kruse, Vice President, Digital Commerce and Omni-channel at Walgreens. “We continue to offer additional ways to get essential retail products into the hands of customers at their door stoop or wherever and whenever is most convenient for them.”

To celebrate Walgreens’ arrival on the DoorDash platform, the delivery service is offering 20 per cent off Walgreens items on their first order of $15 or more, up to a saving of $5.
