Yahoo Mail UpdateYahoo has introduced two features to its Yahoo Mail app to remove the confusion of unknown numbers and the effort taken to upload and send photos between phone and desktop.

A new caller ID feature will show users who is calling them, even if the number is not saved in their phone – if they have communicated with the person previously via email.

The photo upload feature will make recently taken camera roll photos available when accessing Mail on desktop. These images can be searched for in the sidebar ‘thanks to Yahoo’s image recognition technology’.

“We’ve all been there – letting a call from an unknown number go to voicemail, only to realize it was the person you were just emailing,” said Michael Albers, VP of product management at Yahoo Mail, in a blog post. “Or sitting down at your laptop to send photos to friends and remembering they’re stuck on your phone. Now, thanks to the Yahoo Mail app, you’ll never have to guess who’s calling or email yourself a photo again.”

The new features are available on both iOS and Android by updating the Yahoo Mail app.
