Apple has approved Epic Games’ marketplace app on iOS devices in Europe after rejecting it twice.
This approval comes after Epic Games, the parent company of Fortnite, accused the technology giant of obstructing its efforts to create a game store on Apple devices.

In a series of social media posts, the games developer said Apple had rejected the iOS version of its game store twice, with the technology giant claiming there were similarities between Epic’s “Install” button and Apple’s “Get” button, as well as labels for in-app purchases.
However, Epic Games added that it was using “the same naming conventions that are used across popular app stores on multiple platforms, and [is] following standard conventions for buttons on iOS apps” to build “a store that mobile users can easily understand.”
The developer added: “Apple’s rejection is arbitrary, obstructive, and in violation of the DMA, and we’ve shared our concerns with the European Commission.
“Barring further roadblocks from Apple, we remain ready to launch in the Epic Games Store and Fortnite on iOS in the EU in the next couple of months.”
The news comes as, earlier this year, Epic Games slammed Apple for “trying to cynically kill off developers that stand up to them” following the tech giant terminating an account held by the company.
